DAY 01 ARRIVE LA PAZ

DAY 2 LA PAZ (B/L)
This morning, we travel through the High Plateau towards the pre Incan remains of Tiwanaku, declared world heritage site by UNESCO in December 2000.

Upon arrival, visit the Lithic and the Ceramic Museums where you will receive an introduction about the Tiwanaku civilization, explore the archaeological site walking through the main temples such as the Pyramid of Akapana, the Semi underground temple, the Kalasasaya temple in where you will find the Ponce monolith and the famous Gate of the Sun.

Enjoy a set menu lunch at a local restaurant

Return to La Paz and this afternoon, we discover La Paz´s multiethnic and cultural character visiting Los Andes street to admire handy artisans manufacturing traditional garments and festivity costumes. Walk around the Witches Market to get acquainted of the mystical rituals and indigenous cosmos vision and see the enormous handicraft market.

Continue the tour visiting San Francisco Church, the historical heritage district is around the main square of La Paz “Plaza Murillo”, walk around the Legislative Palace, the Government Palace and the Cathedral. Have a breathtaking view of La Paz at Killi Killi lookout.

Later on, go around Miraflores district to see the Open Air Museum about the Tiwanaku Culture. The end of the tour represents visiting the southern residential districts of Obrajes, Calacoto and La Florida located very close to the Moon Valley where you will enjoy of a short walk.

DAY 3 LA PAZ – SUCRE (B)
Today you are transferred to the airport for flight from La Paz to Sucre.
On arrival, you are met and transferred to the hotel.

Balance of the day enjoy a City Tour visiting the main museums of the city combining history, textiles, ethnography and folklore with the most representative outdoors sites such as plazas, and parks, as well as the architecture.

Textile Museum of Indian Arts ASUR, located in a beautiful colonial neighborhood in Sucre, run by Antropologos del Surandino (ASUR), this excellent museum displays of regional textiles and traditional techniques . This program starts with the goal of revitalizing the traditional Tarabuco and Jalq’a textile areas. It exhibits traditional and contemporary textile production, a valuable Tiahuanaco collection and two music and dances halls.

Liberty House, formerly the Assembly Hall of the Jesuit University, where the country’s Declaration of Independence was signed, this house contains a famous portrait of Simon Bolivar. Its construction dates from 1621 as part of the Jesuits convent, later made a part of the building of the University, is the most important national historic landmark. It was a private chapel of the Jesuits and auditorium of the University.

DAY 4 SUCRE (B)
Enjoy a full day Dinosaur Footprints – Cal Orck’o Excursion.

Cal Orck’o is the site of dinosaur footprints largest in the world, the layers containing the footprints is located in the cliff El Molino. The geological age to which they belong is the Late Cretaceous. Cal Orck’o is the most spectacular site of its kind. It’s the only site that concentrates the footsteps of a wide variety of dinosaurs that lived at the ending of the Cretaceous period.

Around 5055 individual dinosaur tracks at least 8 species and 462 trails are combined in a continuous cliff.

Cretaceous Park is located 300 meters from the cliff of dinosaur footprints Cal Orck’o, the Cretaceous Park is the unique resort that offers the possibility to meet the actors in the paleontological heritage in one of the most authentic natural scenes in Bolivia.

DAY 5 SUCRE – POTOSÍ (B)
After breakfast, transfer from Sucre to Potosí, Potosí is a colonial city with a very rich history named Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. This mining town sits at the base of Cerro Rico, a mountain “made of silver” which famously enriched the Spanish empire.

On arrival, check into your hotel.

The balance of the day, we visit the Mint, Cobija Arch, San Lorenzo Church, Central Market, San Francisco viewpoint, main square, La Merced Church, Compañia de Jesús Tower.

DAY 6 POTOSÍ – UYUNI (B/D)
After Breakfast, we leave Potosi and continue overland to Uyuni through highway, crossing beautiful landscapes of the Bolivian altiplano and Andes region.

The Uyuni salt flat lake is the largest and highest salt desert in the world. The surface of the salt flat is white and covered with polyhedral crystalline shapes. In the middle of the salt flat there are some low-lying islands whose soils are covered with fossilized algae, as well as large tubular cacti.

DAY 7 UYUNI (B/L/D)
Start the journey visiting the Train Cemetery and continue towards Colchani where you will visit the salt processing and distribution centers.

Drive through the Uyuni Salt Flats and see how local people extract blocks of salt.

Afterwards, we reach the Coquesa town which is located at the base of the Thunupa Volcano, make a short hike visiting the mommies’ tomb, at least 900 years old and reach the first or the second viewpoint of the holly mountain according to the local inhabitants.

DAY 8 UYUNI – LA PAZ – COPACABANA (B/L)
This morning, we will drive through the salt flats and visit the Fish Island (Inkawasi), where you will find the tallest cactus in the world, walk up to the top of the island and enjoy the views of the Salt Flats of Uyuni.

Return to the hotel for lunch and then transfer to the airport for your flight Uyuni to La Paz.

On arrival, transfer from airport directly to Copacabana through the Altiplano, crossing the strait of Tiquina which is the narrowest part of the entire lake, dividing the lake small section known as Wiñaymarka and the large section known as Chucuito.

Arrival at Copacabana and accommodation at Hotel Rosario Lago Titicaca.

DAY 9 COPACABANA (B)
This morning, sail by motor boat towards the Sun Island. Visit the most important archaeological sites at the Sun Island, such as Pilkocaina, hike up the hill to Yumani town or continue by boat to the Inca´s Fountain and the Inca´s Staircase. Enjoy the views of the lake and the Royal Range of the Andes.

Return to Copacabana and lunch on your own at the Kota Kahuaña restaurant.

The rest of afternoon is free at leisure.

DAY 10 COPACABANA – LA PAZ (B)
Today, you will be transferred to La Paz Airport for your onward flight.
