DAY 1: MUSCAT – ARRIVAL

DAY 2: MUSCAT – NAKHL – MUSCAT (B)
Being a rare blend of ancient & modern, Muscat is a beautiful city which lies in a maze of brown pleated Mountains. Lulled by the Arabian Sea, the city has undergone dramatic development in the past two or three decades. However, Muscat takes pride in the fact that it has preserved its lustrous culture & heritage.
Our visit starts with a tour of the grand mosque, which is an architectural marvel and perhaps the new landmark of the city. The drive continues through the ministries’ area, where you can see a number of modern buildings with touches of ancient, Islamic architecture.
We will then visit the fish market and the folkloric Muttrah souk, with its narrow covered alleys where you can smell exotic aromas of mounds of spices, coffee beans, and ancient remedies, all enticing perfumes that fill the air.
Next, engage in a visit to the Bait Al Zubair Museum, which has a fine exhibit of Omani history and culture, encompassing all of the areas traditional values. You will also have a photo-stop at the magnificent Al Alam Palace (the official residence of Sultan Qaboos) flanked by the twin Portuguese forts of Mirani & Jalali. Lunch is Free.
In the afternoon, we proceed to Nakhl is a typical Omani village. It lies at the foothills of the mountains near an abundant source of water, which irrigates extensive date palm plantations. As you approach Nakhl, keep an eye out on the fortress that sits on a hillock outside the town. The fort’s origin is pre-Islamic with major contributions by the Al Ya’ruba and the Al Bu Sayed dynasties. We will visit the fort, and the mineral-laden hot springs water in Nakhl (Al Thowarah Hot Spring).
Afterwards, we drive back through Seeb souq by the seaside before reaching Muscat at the end of the day.
DAY 3: MUSCAT – NIZWA – MUSCAT(B/L)
We start in the morning to drive to the historic town of Nizwa, Oman’s cultural capital.
We will visit the beautiful Nizwa center with its Fort (outside visit ) and its massive circular cannon Tower, making it one of the most impressive forts in Oman. We will walk through the traditional Nizwa Souq.
Lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch we proceed to the Jabreen Fort, passing one of the oldest small towns of Oman Bahla with its fort (outside visit).
We continue to Jabrin Castle, built in 17th century, one of the finest of its kind. Its magnificent plasterwork, the carved doors and the painted wooden beams of the ceilings makes this castle amazingly different.
DAY 4: MUSCAT – DOLPHINS – MUSCAT (B/D)
This morning we proceed to Dolphin cruise, The coast of Oman is blessed with a variety of Dolphins & whales, which consist of about 21 different species, including the Blue whale, which is seldom seen anywhere else in the world.
In this tour, our staff will transfer you from your hotel to the jetty, where you will be able to take your boat and go on your search through the sea for these friendly creatures. While it is not guaranteed that you would spot dolphins on every trip, this is an enjoyable experience aboard the sea, where you will search to find the dolphins, and if you’re lucky enough, even spot a whale, while our onboard cetacean specialist enlightens you with vast knowledge about these Interesting marine mammals.
In the evening at 6.30 pm, you are picked up from your hotel and head to the Sultan’s Palace (Al Alam Palace) to take a photo of the gates and colonnaded approach. The palace is today largely used for ceremonial purposes. Drive towards the Corniche. Admire the city’s attractive illuminated harbor area.
Then go to the Muttrah Souq to discover a mix of the old and new along with a myriad sights, sounds and fragrances from everyday life. Do a little souvenir shopping and continue to visit the and look at the most prominent landmark in Muscat We will make photo stop at Mohammed Al Ameen Mosque also and move to Royal Opera house for a photo stop.
Enjoy dinner at traditional restaurant.
DAY 5: MUSCAT – DEPARTURE (B)
This morning you will be able to enjoy your hotel. Depending on your time of flight transfer to MUSCAT airport for departure.
